School of Ancient Studies

The Ancient Studies Program was formed at the University of Arizona in 2009 for the purpose of linking together numerous professors, departments and programs with a related interest in the ancient world. A further objective was to develop a new undergraduate major in the field of Ancient Studies and to provide a clearing house for information about activities on campus and for the sharing of expertise among the members of the committee.

Another, long-range objective was the generating of funds to provide assistance to students and additional positions for the faculty in the area of Ancient Studies.
